(UMJVS)

Upekshit Mahila Evam Jan Vikas Sansthan (UMJVS) is a not-for-profit, society registered under Society Registration Act 1860 (All India) in 1994.

Upekshit Mahila Evam Jan Vikas Sansthan‟s activities are primarily aimed at eradicating poverty with particular emphasis on empowering women and disadvantaged communities.

Objective

  • Identification of members from community/ SHGs/ other groups for creating Pressure Group.
  • Pressure Group (PG) to creating awareness towards improved Health Behaviors.
  • PGs to create demand among community for expecting health family norms.
  • PG to creating pressure for improved services on MCH HTSP and FP with different stakeholders.
  • PG to create demand among the community for improved Health Services.

Achievements

About

  • Almost 108 members are given training in social marketing (SM) and associated with SM products like Sanitary Napkins, Cosmetic and Family Planning.
  • UMJVS conduct a several interface meetings with different stakeholders.
  • Improved coordination with Health and Family Welfare department leading to regular ANM visit in slums and villages and continuous supply of FP products.
  • Improved coordination with Health and Family Welfare department and ICDS department leading to regular Village Health and Nutrition Day.
Skill Development Training Programme for Pressure Group Members

The idea behind the training was to regularize the Pressure Group activities on FP and MCH, taking up social issues in the slums and villages and involving the Pressure Group into social marketing livelihood activities

”World Population week”

Cricket

WVI – MOMENT Project organized a Friendly Cricket Match for M.K. Ward Adolescent Boys on 02.07.2014 on the occasion of “World Population Week” observation at LDA Stadium, Sector-I, Aliganj, Lucknow. Total 04 teams participated     in     the     friendly match namely 46 .The Doctorz, Kings-11, Barauli Tigers and New Challenger

“Campaign”

Various Campaigns were celebrated to achieve mass awareness and support the health of women and children. These were Breastfeeding week, Population day, Nutrition week, Family planning campaign, campaign on malnutrition, Safe Motherhood day, New born care week and Sanitation day. Each of these campaigns covered around 250-350 community members through a range of activities such as rallies, debates, competitions, street plays, magic shows etc.
